This is my corner of my office - I'm currently sharing it with our Librarian who is homeless until her new library is completed (my new classroom is her old library). I'm very lucky to have the office - later I'll use it as the quiet place for kids to do podcasting or movie editing etc.

Didn't feel particularly inspired today so decided that I'd do a photo booth shot with an effect added - unfortunately I can't tell you what that effect is!

This shot taken from the balcony of my room. I just love the bright fluffiness of the clouds. A few minutes later and this scene was gone.

5am shot from my balcony - I went outside to see what the cloud cover was like as the ISS was due to pass overhead - no stars showing at all so I took this photo as a consolation.

Today was the surfcasting competition day - unfortunately the kahawai weren't biting!

This is my compilation including some real kiwi fish'n'chips on the beach side and the terns in flight (I think they're terns) catching chips as I threw them into the air.

The young boy on the bike was having fun cycling into the water.

This wall is very significant to me. I've been waiting all holidays for it to go up - it's the closing in of my classroom.

But it is also significant to me because the amount of display space on this one wall is more than all the wall display area I had in my old classroom.

Eventually the wall will be covered in some kind of fuzzy stuff (don't know what it's called) which is ideal for sticking other "stuff" onto.

It will be a few months until it's finished so in the meantime I'm thinking of "painting" it with kids handprints - multicoloured ones . (After it's been plastered and sanded of course!

You can buy fancy lettering or you can make it - with the help of my daughter we've cut out and laminated 3 sets of these 6 fonts. A job well done - and much cheaper than if I'd bought some sets.

365 Photo Challenge

The challenge is to take a photo every day and post to flickr - then up load here. Most of my photos are taken with my cell fone - nokia 6121c - but some will be taken with a school camera (maybe).

Edited to note that I've now bought a camera! A Samsung PL50 which i'll be using along with my cell phone.
